About the Certification

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development is the professional body for human resources and people development, founded in the United Kingdom and recognised across Europe, the Gulf and North Africa. A CIPD qualification signals that a practitioner has been assessed against a formal professional standard rather than simply accumulated years of experience.

CIPD is structured as a progressive framework. The Foundation level suits practitioners early in their HR career or moving into HR from another function. The Associate level addresses professionals who own HR processes and advise line management. The Advanced level is designed for those shaping people strategy at organisational level.

What distinguishes CIPD from other credentials is its emphasis on professional judgement and evidence-based practice. Assessment is typically written and applied, requiring candidates to justify recommendations in a specific organisational context rather than recall definitions.

Certification Levels

1

Foundation Certificate in People Practice — entry level, suited to HR administrators and coordinators

2

Associate Diploma in People Management — mid level, for HR officers, specialists and generalists

3

Associate Diploma in Organisational Learning and Development — mid level, L&D specialisation

4

Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management — senior level, for HR managers and heads of function

Who Should Attend

Foundation level requires no prior HR qualification and is open to anyone working in or entering a people function.
Associate level generally expects either the Foundation certificate or demonstrable HR experience, typically two years or more.
Advanced level expects an existing Associate qualification or substantial senior HR experience.

Eligibility is confirmed by CIPD or its approved centres. Our advisory team reviews your professional background and recommends the level most likely to be approved.

Assessment format

CIPD assessment is coursework-based rather than a single timed examination. Each unit is assessed through written assignments that require you to apply frameworks to an organisational scenario, support recommendations with evidence, and reference professional literature.

Our preparation focuses on unit-by-unit knowledge, assignment structure, evidence selection and academic referencing standards, since most resubmissions are caused by weak justification rather than weak knowledge.
